ESCASEZ DE BUQUES, CONTENEDORES Y CONGESTIÓN PORTUARIA AHORA DISPARA LAS TARIFAS EN LA RUTA TRANSATLÁNTICO

Las tarifas promedio de los fletes en el comercio entre el norte de Europa y la Costa Este de EE.UU. han aumentado en más de un tercio hasta alcanzar más de US$3.600/FEU, ya que el aumento de las importaciones de EE.UU., la congestión portuaria, la falta de contenedores y buques disponibles han creado una situación en la que la demanda de carga supera con creces la capacidad disponible.

Las rutas de Europa-Lejano se han beneficiado de las exportaciones chinas en auge debido a un mayor gasto en bienes de consumo por parte del e-commerce, el comercio entre Europa y América del Norte ha permanecido en el estancamiento durante un largo periodo. Las líneas navieras han transferido todo el tonelaje posible a las dos mayores rutas Este-Oeste. Oeste, lo que significa que ahora no quedan buques para hacer frente a un aumento de las exportaciones europeas a Norteamérica. La capacidad semanal de Europa a Norteamérica se situó en 141.036 TEUs el 1 de mayo, lo que supone un aumento de sólo el 1,4% respecto al 1 de mayo de 2020, mientras que la capacidad era ya un 3,2% inferior a la del 1 de mayo de 2019, debido a la menor demanda a medida que la pandemia de Covid-19 se extiende al mundo occidental.

Buques más grandes, menos servicios

La alta demanda de carga obligó a Hapag-Lloyd el mes pasado a ejecutar una detención temporal de reservas de una semana en ocho zarpes en la ruta Transatlántico.

La línea naviera alemana acaba de empezar a mejorar la ruta Norte de Europa – USEC – Golfo de Estados Unidos «AL3» de THE Alliance, sustituyendo cinco buques de 3.237 TEUs por otros de 7.323 TEUs.
